Mo Farah

Double Olympic champion Mo Farah broke Steve Cram's 28-year 1,500m British record with a remarkable performance at the Diamond League in Monaco.

The Briton also became 1500m European record holder by finishing in three minutes and 28.81 seconds.

Farah, the 5,000m and 10,000m Olympic champion, dropped down a distance to work on his speed ahead of next month's World Championships in Moscow.

He said: "I'm pleased, it was weird competing in a new event."
