The girl's family have been told of her death

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 17-year-old-girl was found dead in Surrey.

Officers were called to a house in Amy Road in Oxted just before 17:20 GMT on Friday, when they found the body.

Officers from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team said they thought the pair knew each other.

The girl's family have been told of her death, a Surrey Police spokesman said. The boy was being kept in police custody.
