X Factor judge Tulisa proved her fans are a close-knit community - by arriving to Birmingham in the same jumper as her biggest admirer.
About 2,000 fans, the vast majority of them screaming teenagers, flocked to the Swan Shopping Centre in Yardley to meet the 24-year-old pop star as she signed copies of her new album.
Macy Khan, 17, from Hall Green, had the privilege of meeting her idol first, having waited patiently since 8am to head the massive queue.
Yet meeting her "role model and inspiration" was not the only honour for young Macy. The hairdresser was sporting the same woolly jumper as the former N-Dubz singer.
"It was just amazing to see her wearing the same jumper as me," she said.
"I bought it from her clothing range. She said to me she was happy to inspire me, that I'm a role model myself and that she loves me.
"It might take a while before it all sinks in."
It was not the first time 21-year-old Charlotte Purcell, from Smethwick, had met the singer voted sexiest woman in the world by readers of magazine FHM.
"I've met her a few times before," said Charlotte. "She said she remembered me because I always ask about her mum.
"I just love her and think she's brilliant, so outgoing and down-to-earth."
But hopes of a dream day out turned into a nightmare for some fans after they were told they would not get to see Tulisa because the queues were so long.
Cadbury College students Sameera Erahi, Renu Gill and Marian Omar were among those turned away having waited for three hours in the freezing cold.
"We're really annoyed and angry," said Sameera, 17, and from Aston.
"She's our idol but we still love her."
