US Singer, R Kelly has announced plans to bring his musical soap opera Trapped in the Closet to Broadway.

The video series, which quickly became a cult classic when it was released back in 2005, will be shown to crowds at the IFC theater in New York before the reworked version hits the stage.

It is believed that the star will also debut new chapters and introduce new characters, complete with his trademark cliffhanger. It is believed that there are an additional "85 chapters" waiting to be released.

R Kelly is reported to have said: "To transform it into a Broadway version, that's what I'm working on."
