Nick Gordon and Bobbi Brown had described themselves 'husband and wife'
Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was never married to the man who found her unconscious in her bath, a family lawyer has claimed.
The 21-year-old, who was "fighting for her life" at the North Fulton Hospital in Georgia, has now reportedly been moved to a top neurological clinic in Atlanta.
Kim Burrell, a family friend, has told a US television programme that Brown was placed in a medically-induced coma as doctors hoped to reduce swelling on her brain.
"Her eyes did move a little bit," Burrell said. "We're hoping that it's just not a reflex. We're hoping that it's a conscious choice."
Bobbi Kristina Brown was found at her suburban townhouse in Georgia
Brown was discovered by her partner, Nick Gordon, who performed CPR on her and was the first person to call medics and police to the suburban home.
Brown and Gordon, who was her adopted brother, had regularly referred to themselves as husband and wife in public - with pictures of her wedding ring posted on social media.
However, a family statement read: "To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon.

"We are currently investigating the events that led to her hospitalisation."
It is nearly three years since Bobbi Kristina Brown's mother, Whitney Houston, died from accidental drowning in the bathtub of a hotel room in Beverly Hills, California. The singer left her entire estate to her only child – on the condition that she only inherits it on her 30th birthday.
Police officials are continuing their investigation into the incident, and have refused to provide any update on Brown's condition.
