Over-cautious pedestrian waits at red traffic light

2014-01-19 16:41:24

This over-cautious pedestrian clearly wasn't going anywhere in a hurry after being snapped waiting at a red light intended for cars.

The unidentified woman was spotted by teenager Imogen O'Neill at around 2.45pm on Thursday walking along a road in Coventry.

The 18-year-old, who took a picture of the incident, said she stopped at the sign, which read: 'When red light shows wait here'.

'We were driving up to the roadworks when we saw this women walking up and then just standing at the traffic lights,' she told the Coventry Telegraph.

'I said to my mum "I think she's waiting at the traffic lights" but she didn't believe me at first.

'She was just laughing like it can't have been real.

'The woman just stood there waiting so I took a photo and then when the lights went green she carried on. I was just laughing so much.'

The original picture has been shared more than 4,500 times on Twitter.
