Woman's body found in Edgbaston tower block

The woman's death is being treated as unexplained

The body of a woman has been found in a Birmingham tower block.

Police were called at 05:30 GMT by a man who said he had found the woman, believed to be in her 50s, collapsed in a bedroom at Century Tower in Dollery Drive, Edgbaston.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and it is being treated as unexplained.

Officers have been conducting house-to-house inquiries. They have also stepped up patrols and will be reviewing CCTV. The tower block was cordoned off.

Det Supt Mark Payne, said: "At this early stage it's not yet clear how long the woman has been dead."
