A young woman was stalked through Birmingham city centre before being sexually assaulted in what she described as like ;something from a horror movie'.
A man was captured in grainy CCTV footage as he followed his 23-year-old victim through the city last Thursday.
She was walking alongside Baskerville House, in Centenary Square, towards Cambridge Street when the man first approached her at about 10.10pm.
He eventually grabbed her at a zebra opposite Summer Row.
PC Kim Fenney said: "This young woman was walking alone through the city centre where she should have felt safe, when she was put through a terrifying ordeal.
"When she spoke to police, she described the whole experience as 'like being in a horror movie'.
"I'm keen to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the images or who has any information about who is responsible.
"I also want to hear from any witnesses who may have been passing at the time of the assault."
The attacker was described as "Moroccan-looking", aged between 25 and 30, 5'8" tall and of slim build.
He had short curly black hair and stubble, wore a dark jacket with a collar which had bright blue on it.
PC Fenney added: "We've got to find the person responsible in order to ensure justice is done and to stop this from happening to someone else."
Anyone with information is asked to call Birmingham Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
