Woman accused of infecting three men with HIV appears in court

A woman has been accused of GBH for allegedly infecting three men with HIV.

Sarah Ward, from Church Ward Close, Stourbridge, was due at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court  on (Saturday, 27 June) charged with five counts of causing grievous bodily harm to three men.

West Midlands Police said that the 41 year-old, and from Church Ward Close, was arrested in May 2015 following an allegation she had unprotected sex with a man without disclosing she was HIV positive.

Since her arrest, detectives from the force’s Public Protection Unit have received similar complaints from two other men. The allegations date from 2000 to 2014.

Ward is due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court. Anyone with concerns should contact their doctor in the first instance.
