Two men found with gunshot and stab wounds in subway

Police are investigating after two men were found with gunshot and knife wounds in a Birmingham city centre subway.

The path on Bristol Street remained cordoned off on Sunday as forensic officers combed the scene for clues.

The two men were found on Saturday night at 7.50pm.

A 44-year-old had suffered a gun-shot wound to the hand while a 43-year-old man had suffered a stab wound to the back.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said both were treated in hospital before being released.

She added enquiries into how the men were hurt were ongoing.
