Police are hunting two suspects wanted in connection with a brutal street attack after an Aston Villa home game.

The 59-year-old victim was chased and repeatedly punched by two thugs who followed him from Aston railway station as he waited for a train.

His ordeal only ended when passers-by stepped in.

West Midlands Police said it happened at around 9.30pm on December 7 - after Villa's Premier League game against Leicester City.

The attackers were described as black and aged 20 to 25.

One was slim and wore a grey hoody, blue T-shirt, blue jeans and black trainers.

The second was of medium build and wearing a black cap, red Nike jacket with blue sleeves, blue jeans and grey trainers.
