A man suspected of stabbing a pregnant woman in a Birmingham car park has been arrested.

Police were looking for Leon Harrison, 33, after the woman was knifed in the car park of Fitness First, Stirchley at about 14:00 BST on Monday.

The victim remains in a critical but stable condition, police said.

The 31-year-old, who was in the early stages of pregnancy, is understood to be known to Mr Harrison, from Kings Heath, the West Midlands force said.

Detectives still want to speak to the male driver of a blue Renault vehicle, who was leaving the car park in Pershore Road as the attack happened.
