Perry Barr baby death: Man charged with murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a five-month-old girl who died after suffering a number of injuries.

She was reportedly taken to hospital with breathing difficulties on Tuesday from an address in Perry Barr, Birmingham. She died on Wednesday.

Tomas Driukas, 25, from Crantock Road, Perry Barr, will appear before magistrates on Saturday.

A 22-year-old woman also arrested over the baby's death has been released on police bail.

West Midlands Police said a post-mortem examination had revealed several injuries to the child and further tests were being conducted to establish the cause of death.
