Pedestrian struck by car in Smethwick dies

A pedestrian died when he was hit by a car in the West Midlands.

The man was struck by a vehicle on Thimblemill Road in Smethwick at about 18:00 GMT on Wednesday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said he went into cardiac arrest.

Three people in a car, believed to be involved in the collision, were checked over by an ambulance crew but did not need hospital treatment.
