A man has died after he was struck by a car in Wolverhampton city centre.
The crash occurred at about 06:15 GMT at the junction of Stafford Street and the St Peter and St Patrick stretches of the ring road.
The pedestrian, in his 50s, was hit by a black Mazda vehicle and was taken to hospital where he later died, West Midlands Police said.
Parts of the ring road clockwise and Stafford Street were closed but have since re-opened.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
Acting Insp Belinda Sixsmith of West Midlands Police said: "This collision happened in an incredibly busy area of the city and caused disruption to many people. I would like to thank them for their patience."
