Man rescued after manhole fall in West Bromwich

A man has been taken to hospital after falling down a manhole.

The incident happened on Dudley Street, West Bromwich, West Midlands, shortly after 21:50 GMT on Sunday.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "Using specialist equipment the man was extricated from the hole and was treated at the scene for back pain."

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was fully immobilised before being taken to hospital for assessment and treatment.
