Sedgley Hit and Run

A man has been killed in a hit-and-run crash near a pub in the West Midlands.

West Midlands Police said the 21-year-old man had been crossing Dudley Road, Sedgley, near the Leopard Inn pub when he was hit by a vehicle at about 23:00 GMT on Saturday.

The man, thought to be local, was taken to hospital but died hours later.

Officers said a man, also aged 21, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after handing himself in at a police station.

Police said the vehicle, which failed to stop at the scene, was travelling from Dudley towards Sedgley.

Police urged anyone with information to come forward.
