Man found with serious injuries on road in Birmingham

Forest Road has been sealed off

A man has been discovered with serious injuries on the street in a Birmingham suburb.

West Midlands officers were called to Forest Road, Mosley at about 22:00 GMT on Tuesday, where they found the 50-year-old local man lying on the ground.

He was taken to hospital where his condition is described as critical.

An investigation into what happened is under way. The road has been sealed off and will remain closed while forensic examinations take place.

Det Ch Insp Michaela Kerr said: "[The man's] injuries are being treated at this stage as unexplained and we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Forest Road area of Moseley last night, and may have seen what happened, to contact us."
