2013-05-05 21:45:29

A man has died in a tower block fire in Birmingham.

Fire crews were called to the blaze in Victoria House on Bloomsbury Street in the Nechells area at 01:11 BST.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said they forced entry into a flat in the 20-storey building and located and extinguished the fire.

A man was discovered inside but despite efforts to revive him he died at the scene. The fire service does not believe the blaze to be suspicious.
