Police officers are studying CCTV footage

A 24-year-old man is critically ill in hospital after being stabbed in Birmingham.

A disturbance happened on Slade Road, Erdington, near the junction with St Thomas' Road, at about 22:50 BST on Monday, West Midlands Police said.

It said an investigation was at a very early stage and that officers are studying CCTV footage.

Slade Road was closed in both directions between Fentham Road and Abbey Road overnight.
