A 22-year-old Hockley man will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (Friday 14 December) charged with two counts of assault.

The charges relate to an attack in which an 18-year-old was floored and had his head stamped on while he was on a night out with friends on Broad Street in September.

The man - the second to be arrested and charged in connection with the attack - was arrested yesterday on suspicion of attempted murder and has been remanded in custody pending his appearance before city magistrates.
