Gun discovered after Birmingham markets fight

A gun has been found after a fight in a busy city centre market area.

An argument broke out at the markets near the Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham at 15:00 BST.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of affray in the market area and the area was cordoned off while searches were made.

A further three men were arrested near The Mailbox shopping centre on suspicion of firearm offences.

Ch Insp Paul Marriot, from West Midlands Police, said: "There are no reports of injuries and the area around the market has been cordoned off while enquiries continue.

"Officers remain at both the Mailbox and Bullring to reassure concerned members of the public."
