About 80 people were evacuated from a block of flats in Birmingham after a fire broke out in the early hours.

Eight fire crews tackled the blaze on the sixth floor of the 20-storey Sapphire Tower in Aston, which started at about 02:00 BST.

One man was taken to the specialist burns unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

Station Commander Adrian Sherry said the blaze was now out and fire investigators were at the scene.
