A man has been charged with murdering his ex-wife and attempting to murder their two children.

Luan Leigh was pronounced dead by paramedics at her home in Pype Hayes, Birmingham at 07:30 BST on Sunday.

Andrew Leigh, a 42-year-old telecommunications worker from Sutton Coldfield, is due before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

The children, a 15-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, are recovering in hospital, a police spokesperson said.
