Badly burned body found in Birmingham alleyway

A badly burned body has been found in an alleyway in Birmingham.

Officers from West Midlands Police were called to the scene in Gowan Road in the Alum Rock area of the city just after 09:30 GMT.

A spokesperson from the force said the area had been cordoned off and the death was being treated as "unexplained".

An inquiry is under way which is being led by the Birmingham Major Investigation Unit.
