Midlands pays tribute to the late Cyrille Regis


'Cyrille exhibited exceptional passion, determination and integrity'

FOLLOWING THE very sad news of Cyrille Regis’ passing, Obayed Hussain, director of West Midlands Active Citizens, and the Equality Officer for the Birmingham FA, has issued a statement.

Hussain said: “Cyrille Regis was one of football’s great pioneers. In standing up to hatred, Cyrille exhibited exceptional passion, determination and integrity in paving the way for future generations of Black, Asian and ethnic minority footballers to break through.
