Two men have been charged after a British couple on a world cruise holiday were shot and robbed during a stopover in Barbados.
Ann, 59, and Philip Prior, 72, from Bedfield, near Framlingham in Suffolk, were attacked in Bridgetown on Sunday.
Mr Prior was hit on his left side and his wife was shot in her right thigh.
The Royal Barbados Police said one man had been been charged over the shooting of the Priors and with robbery. Another has been charged only with robbery.
A police spokesman said: "Mr and Mrs Prior have been released from hospital. They are in fine spirits.
"They are preparing to leave or have left the island by now. I do not know their destination."
The couple were on a three-month P&O cruise around the Caribbean and South America on board the Adonia, which left Southampton on 8 January and is due to arrive back in the UK on 3 April.
A company spokesman said: "Two passengers on Adonia were hospitalised in Bridgetown, Barbados following an incident on shore on Sunday March 17. One passenger has since been released from hospital.
"Local authorities are investigating. Our shore-side customer care team and ship's medical team are providing support as necessary."
A Foreign Office spokesman said consular assistance was being provided.
