Alison Morrison was a senior member of
Harrow's Safer Neighbourhood Board
A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who was stabbed to death in a north-west London street.
Alison Morrison, 45, was attacked in Alexandra Avenue, Harrow, at 07:45 GMT on Thursday morning. She died later in hospital.
Scotland Yard said Trevor Gibbon, 48, from Harrow, would appear before magistrates in Hendon on Saturday.
Mrs Morrison, who was attacked near her home, was vice-chair of the area's Safer Neighbourhood Board.
David Perry, leader of Harrow Council, said: "Alison Morrison was passionately committed to creating a safer Harrow... and it is terrible news that she has lost her life in this violent way in a borough she cared so much about.
"Alison's colleagues on the Safer Neighbourhood Board are absolutely shattered by this news, as are the staff of Harrow Council."
